API key request

Post by rom@slks.dk »

Dear TGDB

I would like to request an API key for the TGDB API.

I represent the Danish Digital Library, which is an umbrella organisation for the Danish public libraries.
For further information see https://www.danskernesdigitalebibliotek.dk/english/.

We build and maintain the open source Drupal distribution Ding 2 which is the code base for the websites and discovery solution for the Danish public libraries.
For further information see https://github.com/ding2/ding2/.

In that context we have a Cover service which is requested by the Ding2 websites when displaying bibliographic records in search results or other work displays.
For the Cover service we are actively searching for sources of quality images of diverse materials, computer games being among them.
Our legal department continuously works on clearing the rights for use of images with the respective copyright owners.

Our partners at the public libraries have identified TGDB as a quality source of cover art of video games.

What we would like to do is to:
1. Identify bibliographic records without a corresponding image, that have been cleared by our legal department.
1. Query the TGDB for names/platforms of games.
2. Request the corresponding images.
3. Copy the images for our Cover service.

Yours sincerely
Rolf Madsen

Hello!

You've been granted an API key which you can access through this page.

Please check the Announcements forum on a regular basis to ensure compliance with any changes or updates.

Documentation is available on Swagger here.

Thank you for your interest!
~ Leo
We're curious to see how new projects use TGDB API.
If you have a new public project, please provide a link to it so we can highlight cool new applications! 8-)
