Unfortunately, the API key field in the Kodi add-on Rom Collection Browser was designed for APIv1, and we've heard nothing of an update to v2. As the keys are meant to be issued to project developers so as to avoid personal key issuance in the first place, this is not currently something we can resolve on our end. Sorry for the inconvenience.
