I'm gonna try to patch EmulationStation's scraper to actually work again, will need an API key for testing.

Hello!

You've been granted an API key which you can access through this page.

Please check the Announcements forum on a regular basis to ensure compliance with any changes or updates.

Documentation is available on Swagger here.

Thank you for your interest!

Thanks, but I was wondering - the key page says the public key has "a limit per IP" - does that mean it's limited to ONE IP? or is it limited to certain IPs? Or does it have a maximum number of requesting IPs allowed?

None of the above.

Each unique IP accessing the public API has a monthly limit for requests.

This is why we recommend testing on maybe 20-30 results using the public key (significantly less if you're testing details relevant to a specific result), then using the private key for the first sync of your project database once everything's sorted. This is meant to address the responsiveness issues that plagued v1.
