no id for games?

Post by winterslang »

Am i blind or is there no id for games?
For example CUSA for PS4 or PPSA for PS5.
That id would be very good to have as searchable to be sure you pick the correct game and version.

For other gaming platforms like Xbox, Nintendo, or PC, there are different systems or identifiers in place. Xbox, for instance, uses title IDs, and PC platforms like Steam may use game-specific alphanumeric codes.

You are correct that there isn't a universal ID specifically for games across all platforms like there is for PS4 (CUSA) or PS5 (PPSA) games. However, many platforms and storefronts use unique identifiers for games within their ecosystems.

For example, on Steam, each game has a unique Steam App ID. On Xbox, games have a Product ID. On the Nintendo eShop, games have a Title ID. These identifiers are often used internally by the platform holders and may not be as widely recognized or searchable as the CUSA or PPSA codes for PlayStation games.scratch games

While having a standardized ID system for games across all platforms would certainly be convenient for consumers, it's currently not in place. As a result, when searching for a specific game, it's often best to use the title of the game along with any relevant platform or storefront information to ensure you're selecting the correct version.
